It’s important to recognize when you have something wonderful in your life.

Well, I didn’t get the cover for the contest I entered. My photo shoot was amazing and Amanda did such a wonderful job but the judges went in a different direction. I’ve got to say that the girl who won is drop dead gorgeous! She deserves the cover. And thanks to my wonderful boyfriend, I can look back at the experience and still be proud of the fact that even though I didn’t win the cover, I will still be a published model. He has been so supportive and I just can’t express the love that I feel for him. I wouldn’t have had the confidence to even do a photo shoot if it were not for him. I know that he’ll never see this but I just need to say that I love you hun. You are such an important part of my life. I wouldn’t trade your love for anything in this world.

Amy Poehler just schooled Neal Brennan on what it’s like to be a woman with one sentence

Oh, Amy. How do we love thee? Let us count the ways.

For one, she can make a feminist argument zing like a “Weekend Update” punchline, a skill she demonstrated as a recent guest on The Approval Matrix, the Sundance Network’s new panel show. During her interview, Poehler was asked about modern men and the difficult challenges men face.

Poehler has never been shy about women’s issues

“We had been waiting for over an hour for Vivien Leigh (there was miscommunication about the time of the shoot)…the shots were in costume. Clark was pacing back and forth… ‘I couldn’t make love to that dame now if she were the most beautiful woman in the world!’ And then, a rustle of silk, the sweet smell of lilacs and there was the most beautiful woman in the world, standing behind him, touching his shoulder, whispering like a summer breeze… ‘I quite agree, Mr. Gable. If I were a man, I’d tell that Vivien Leigh to go right back to merry old England and fuck herself.’ Gable turned and looked. Leigh looked back. The look in their eyes had flashbulbs in it. Slowly Rhett Butler took Scarlett O’Hara by the arm and walked onto the Southern staircase, talking and smiling as though they’d known each other all their lives.”  -Clarence Sinclair Bull

The Girl: People don’t realize, but when l show my teeth on TV… l appear before more people… than Sarah Bernhardt ever did. Something to think about.
Richard Sherman: lt certainly is.
The Girl: Wish l were old enough to have seen her. Was she magnificent?
Richard Sherman: l wouldn’t know. l’m not that old myself.
The Girl: l guess you’re not really.

Sarah Bernhardt [October 1844- March 26, 1923] was a French stage and early film actress. She developed a reputation as a serious dramatic actress, and gained the nickname “The Divine Sarah.”
